Revive Yorkshire

On Wednesday 150 of us from churches across Yorkshire gathered to pray for Revival. We were unsure what to expect but we were quickly encouraged, not only by the numbers, but by the obvious faith and anticipation in the room! It was evident that we were praying on the back of a wave or prayer for revival across the different churches.

We worshipped and prayed in between stories of what God had done in the past and what God is doing amongst us today. There are so many amazing revival stories in Yorkshire, even the very spot that we were praying in Leeds thousands had once gathered to hear about Jesus. But what was particularly thrilling about our time together were the current stories we heard of Jesus revealing himself to people through dreams and visions today! All of this stirred faith to pray for God to move powerfully in our nation again. We were inspired by the church’s prayer in Acts 4, that our ‘Sovereign Lord’ would ‘stretch out his hand’ and make his presence known.

During the evening, it was encouraging to see God moving upon us. As we prayed for a bold church in our nation, God made us bold! There was a great sense of the Holy Spirit bringing new confidence to us. We kept on being drawn back to worship and finding assurance in our God who is with us. In the end we didn’t want to leave. It only felt like we had got started! Which is why it’s great that this was just the first of many prayer meetings to come.

Our next time together is 8pm, Wednesday 21 st March at Gateway Church, Leeds. Please do join us for what is fast becoming a significant event!
