Ukraine Offering Update

Read time: ~ 2mins

Dear friends,

We thought it would be good to give you an update of what has been happening both in our churches in Ukraine and also in the wider Newfrontiers world.

In recent weeks, Newfrontiers has raised over £1.1M for Ukrainian support. Included in that figure is over £110,000 that we have raised within ChristCentral. Thank you so much for generous and sacrificial giving. Money is still coming in and obviously there is still desperate need.

We are working very closely with friends right across Newfrontiers. Together, we have been able to provide humanitarian supplies to our friends in Ukraine, and are also in the process of funding a minibus and van to support their relief work.

We have also been working with the Newfrontiers church in Brasov, which Andy Robinson and I have recently visited. They are hosting around 60 Ukrainian refugees in their building, and again, in partnership with Newfrontiers, we have been able to fund some of the work required to make this possible. This has included installing toilets and showers, cooking equipment and a decent Wi-Fi network, to enable the young people to access online education.

In the wider Newfrontiers world, teams have also been working to support a church in Krakow, Poland which has become a refugee centre for many who have been displaced.

You will know too that we have offered to match people from our churches in Ukraine who want to come to the UK using the UK Government scheme, with hosts from our churches in the UK. Our first guests have already arrived and others have visa applications in process. Thank you to everyone who has so generously offered their home, and to Emma McColl from Liverpool who is doing an fantastic job in managing this initiative.

There are some news stories and videos on the ChristCentral website at christcentralchurches.org/ukraine, including a new interview with one of our friends from Ukraine. If you want to give into the Ukraine offering, details are on the same page. There are also more stories on the Newfrontiers website.

Please do continue to pray for our friends and the situation overall. Pray for wisdom as our leaders there look for the best way to continue to serve their churches, and their communities. Let’s keep praying for this war to end and for peace to come once again.

It’s in times like these we really see the benefit of being a worldwide family of churches, both within ChristCentral and our wider Newfrontiers family. Thank you for standing with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. I know they so value and appreciate your love and prayers.

With much love,
Graham Pyman
