Ghana Compassion Project

Michael & Mabel Akotia are based at City of Grace Church in Ho, Ghana. Michael oversees the work of ChristCentral in West Africa and is also part of the ChristCentral apostolic team. Michael and his team oversee 11 churches in Ghana and 10 churches in Benin. They are also exploring links with churches in other nations.

City of Grace are very much a base for our work into the region and host our School of Leadership training course there.

Michael and his team have been working with Compassion for a number of years, creating strong links with the Compassion national team, as they seek to bring relief to children who are living in poverty in their region.

We are really excited to be able to celebrate with them as they have been able to now register over 200 children into their finished Compassion project which will fully open in November and be staffed by local Compassion workers. Child development centres like the one in Ho create stable, nurtuing environments where children experience God's love and acceptance in tangible ways.

Compassion are passionate about working with local church bases. Over many years they have proven the effectiveness of working with local churches because they are often best suited to address the needs of the poor in their locality. Churches are often already working with and engaging in their local communities and are aware of the challenges that local people face. The local church are also well equipped to effectively deliver Jesus-based teaching and whole-life care that children in poverty deserve. Churches provide stability which enables a sustainable, long term, project base to flourish and provide the safety and security which all children need to thrive.

We'd love to encourage you to partner with Michael & Mabel in this fantastic project. If you have any questions, please contact info@christcentralchurches.org. Thank you.
