Joseph Mwila

Brothers and sisters, we are very grateful for all the help that you've given us over the years. Now, as we face this continuing crisis of food security across our regions, we hope you will be able to stand with us once again.

We are grateful for the relief aid we've received, but this offering it's about the long term. It's about facing the challenges ourselves enabling us to change the way we farm and the way we support our communities. We believe that as we do this, we will provide a model to our communities and be change makers in the way we handle this climate crisis. Thank you for supporting us and God bless you!

Goodson Kaluba
Greetings, Zambia is a beautiful country in the heart of Africa and it is blessed with many natural resources and plenty of land for farming.

Unfortunately, in recent years we have suffered from the effects of climate change. Often there is less rain and sometimes we have had severe floods which affects the harvest.

This year we experienced a terrible drought, which started in January and has affected much of the country and many people have gone hungry. In February, the President declared a national disaster and among our churches, about 5,000 people have been affected. The situation is unlikely to improve until about May next year, even if the next rains come as expected.

Because of these challenges, we have had several projects to improve our farming techniques so we can resist climate change better. Our latest one started in 2024 and it’s funded by ChristCentral and we are trying to use the lessons we learned from the previous projects, now we hope to develop and extend that project further.

Adam Price
The project we're supporting deals with water shortage by drilling a borehole, it protects the soil through crop diversification and planting fruit and nut trees, and it builds community through setting up cooperatives.

It's a model that can be replicated in many other places and I'm very excited about it because it helps us respond to the global challenge of climate change together in a very practical way.

The next phase will cost £20,000 and I hope this short video has helped you to see that the impact of that money will be huge! You can contribute at a local ChristCentral church carol service or online by following this link: christcentralchurches.org/appeal.

Thank you and Merry Christmas.
