Going Green at Devoted Leaders 2026

Going Green at Devoted Leaders
This year we're working in partnership with the CreationCall team who are helping us to make Devoted Leaders more environmentally friendly. Here are some of the things we've changed.

Recycling Bins
In 2024 we contributed to the purchase of new cup recycling bins means we can recycle the cups we use during the conference and which has enabled Kings to do so every week since!

Brochures & Emerge Leaflets
We asked our print firm to carbon offset our brochure print run and for the paper we used to be FSC certified. This means we have contributed towards a certified european climate project, supported tree planting in the UK and contributed to wind farms and forest protection in South America. More details here.

Notebooks
The notebooks in your delegate packs are made from 100% recycled paper and are accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), ISO 14001 certified and SMETA approved. More details here.

Delegate Bags
The delegate bags are now printed on a Recycled Cotton Tote Bag made from 100% recycled cotton and certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS),  and are printed in the UK.

Lanyards & Badge Holders
Your delegate lanyards are made from rPET (recycled) Polyester, which is produced from recycled plastic bottles and other consumer waste materials such as fishing nets or industrial scraps. More details here. Our badge holders will be collected after the conference and re-used at future events.

Parking / Travel
We can all make Devoted Leaders more environmentally friendly by reducing the number of vehicles travelling to and from the venue each day.

Please note, this year we don't have access to the large on-site car park due to a change of ownership. This means that we will need to park in surrounding roads (full details here).

It would help our teams if you could car-share to and from the venue! Could you also consider how you travel to Darlington? May be you could share lifts with others from your church or locality?

Other Eco Friendly Choices We've Made:
- Compostable Cups
- Improved Signage for disposing of recyclable rubbish
- Food Waste - is removed and converted to biomass or passed onto a local animal sanctuary
- Ethical Fair Trade Tea & Coffee
- Wooden Forks / Coffee Stirrers
- Eco Friendly Recycled Toilet Paper
- Refillable Hand Wash Soap

Soft Plastic Recycling
We're hoping that we may also be able to organise the recycling of our soft plastic waste. This isn't something available in the local area but we plan to collect it during the conference and send it on to be recycled as well!

We'd love our delegates to help us to make this year's Devoted Leaders as eco-friendly as possible. Thank you for your support!
